The Stand – Mission Valley

I remember visiting this mall when I was a little kid.  It was one of the fanciest malls in town.  Since then fancier malls have been built and this mall has been quiet lately.  Now they renamed Mission Valley Mall to The Valley with new shops and eateries opening.

I visited The Stand for a Yelp Elite event.

I built my own burger with a brioche bun, 2 beef patties, lettuce, tomato, and bacon.  Brioche bun was soft and had a light sweet flavor I liked.  Lettuce and tomato were crisp and fresh.  Beef was juicy and had a light beefy flavor.  Bacon was crunchy and had a salty smoky flavor.  Very good tasting burger but next time I’d add double bacon.  This was a big lunch.

Onion rings were crunchy and had lots of fried onion flavor.  Very good.

Vanilla shake was cold, creamy, and full of sweet vanilla flavor.

Staff was very nice and I liked how clean, new, and shiny this place is.  Thanks to Yelp CM Hannah and The Stand for the awesome lunch.

I visited a second time.

Vienna Beef hot dog had an excellent beef to bun ratio.

Loved the big juicy dog which had a delicious beefy flavor and some smokiness from the light char.  Great for a small lunch.

Fried chicken wings with bbq sauce.  Skin was crispy and the meat was tender and moist.

Bbq sauce added a bit of sweet smoky flavor.  Another great small lunch.

Strawberry lemonade had a mix of sour lemon and sweet strawberry flavor.  Very good.

I enjoyed visiting The Stand.  I found all the food very good and there is lots of free parking in the underground parking so your car isn’t hot after lunch.
