San Diego Chicken Pie Shop

This is my favorite spot to get a delicious chicken pie dinner! Love the combination of gravy, tender chicken & turkey with a moist tender crust. Their sides are always tasty. I really like the mashed potatoes (with gravy), coleslaw, corn and large biscuits with butter. Plus the dinner comes with a slice of pie. My favorite is the banana cream.

No matter what I order here, I always know it will be fresh and fabulous. They have different daily specials. Service is always friendly and speedy. Ambiance is relaxed with an impressive rooster and hen collection displayed. Plus you can purchase chicken pies to bake at home and various bakery goodies.

Finally the four or five story housing has been completed (for a few years now) that literally surrounds this famous place. I was happy to see they managed to keep parking spaces open just for restaurant customers.  I’ll have to say it took awhile to get used to the huge building that looks like it’s gonna swallow up the restaurant. Anyways, hopefully the people that live there are regular customers.
